Where to celebrate Father’s Day in London

To make daddy feel special on Father’s Day, take the family out for a special treat and show him how much he means to you. Here are our top suggestions for the best ways to celebrate Father’s Day in London this year:

Delicious family pub lunch at The Sands End
With large open windows for warm summer days, popular Fulham gastro pub The Sands End offers an ideal setting for a delicious lunch or Sunday roast this Father’s Day. The Sands End is known for its seasonal British food beautifully presented and cooked to the highest standard, and although the pub usually attracts a young crowd, it tends to be buzzing with families on Sundays when the kitchen is open non-stop from lunch to dinner. And if you head to this Fulham gem, even the family dog can join in on the celebrations! (Note: There are no high chairs, so bring a portable seat or plan for baby to stay in the buggy)

Fun family day out at Plantasia in Kew Gardens
With a sunny forecast for the day, Kew Gardens (see picture above) will be an excellent place to go for a family day out. The summer festival Plantasia is now open at Kew, and as part of the festival, there’s a unique sensory experience, where you can walk barefoot to feel different textures, such as bouncy rainforest floors. Young family members can also enjoy seeing the ducks at Kew and having picnic on the grass in the beautiful surroundings. For adults, there’s a charming Gin and Tonic Garden, where there’s a bar serving fantastic botanical cocktails on weekends, and if you’re celebrating Father’s Day for your bump, I can recommend a delicious non-alcoholic cocktail with strawberries I tried there!

Sand and sporting action at The Beach at Bluebird
Summer has arrived at Bluebird, the ultimate al-fresco dining venue in Chelsea, and in the hot weather, the recently-opened Beach at Bluebird is a great place to go for a fun family breakfast or lunch. For Daddy’s special day you can all jump in the new Bluebird sandbox in the courtyard and take a ‘beach’ photo of the family, or simply relax in one of the comfy outdoor sofas and watch summer sporting action on the big screen. There are high chairs, plenty of space for buggies, crayons and colour-in sheets to keep little ones entertained, and the menu includes summer favourites like Eton Mess. Perfect for celebrating dream dad!
