Planning where to go on baby’s first holiday

Having a baby doesn’t mean you have to stop travelling, and it can be exciting to take baby on a holiday in the first year.

We made sure we booked flights to Florida and Dubai before our daughter was born, ensuring we had holidays to look forward to when the weather was colder in London.

And we’re not the only local family who like travelling. Here’s where three other New Baby Company clients took their little ones on baby’s first holiday:

Beth
City and country holiday in South Africa with 5-month old son

What’s your best holiday memory? Seeing him enjoy the warm weather. Being in the swimming pool and outside on a blanket playing whenever he was awake.
What do you know now that you wished you’d known before the trip? He didn’t sleep in the buggy, so considering he was still taking three naps a day, it didn’t allow us much time to do any sightseeing in Cape Town or wine tasting in the Franschhoek vineyards. But we still had a nice, relaxing holiday!

The family stayed with friends in Cape Town and at Franschhoek Country House in Franschhoek

Maria
Beach holiday in Dubai with 3.5-month old son

What’s your best holiday memory? Lying in a sun lounger by the swimming pool with our baby sleeping in his pram so I could read a book or just relax!
What do you know now that you wish you’d known before the trip?
The holiday was actually perfect. The hotel was excellent and very child-friendly! In fact, almost every other guest had a baby or small child. I don’t think I would have changed anything!

The family stayed at The One & Only Royal Mirage in Dubai

Karen
Honeymoon in Greece with 9-month old daughter

What’s your best holiday memory? We had a large suite with a private pool, which was brilliant when travelling with a baby, as it meant she could have her naps inside in the air-conditioned room, while we were outside in the sun. We also loved the food at the hotel, and the locals seemed to love children, making us feel very welcome.
What do you know now that you wish you’d known before the trip? We didn’t have a direct flight, which made the journey more stressful with a baby.

The family stayed at Mykonos Grand in Mykonos
